Mini

Aceman
The MINI Aceman is a compact electric crossover designed to slot into the brand’s line-up between the Cooper hatch and larger Countryman zero-emission models. The Aceman comes with two battery sizes and three power outputs, between 184- and 258hp, and a one-shot driving range at 309-405km. It offers a stylish and upmarket take on the EV formula, with typically desirable MINI looks and a high-quality cabin. It’s not the largest in the back or the boot, but it does drive sweetly and has impressive electrical efficiency.

Convertible
Not the most relevant model to the Irish market, but a revised MINI Convertible has been unveiled ahead of its 2025 launch. We’ve not driven it as yet, but it’s based on the same underpinnings as before so don’t expect it to be vastly different in feel. That’s no bad thing as an open-topped MINI is always a feel-good kind of car. Shame there’s no sign of an electric version, as this vehicle is built on a different platform to the electric hatchback, but keener drivers will be happy to hear about the 231hp JCW version. Of course, the biggest news here is the all-new interior with its impressive circular touchscreen.

Countryman
The not-very-mini MINI has grown again into its third generation, and while the angular SUV profile and vibe are familiar, lots is new. The Countryman gets a spiffy new interior, mixing sustainable materials with cool technology and there’s loads of space on board, too. Buyers have more choice than ever as well, including the first-ever all-electric Countryman. Actually, there’s a wide choice of electric options, with a range of up to 453km and either one or two electric motors for up to 313hp. Petrol power is also available and there’s a dizzying number of trim levels and options to consider.

Cooper
MINI has renamed its hatchback model the Cooper, and there are three main varieties to consider from the start. On one side are the petrol-fuelled hatchbacks – available with three or five doors – that are effectively major overhauls of what went before, and on the other hand is the new electric MINI Cooper, exclusively offered in three-door format. They all look remarkably similar, but the electric model is a more modern-looking car. Inside, they all get MINI’s new circular OLED screen and high-quality fittings.
