Model 3

Heavily updated recently, and given new styling at the front and rear, the Tesla Model 3 just keeps getting cheaper — as Tesla continually cuts its prices — and getting more range — as Tesla updates both its batteries and software. The basic Model 3 now comes with a 500km+ range, while the Long Range model stretches that to 700km. Even with the updates, though, the 3 feels old and the infotainment screen is annoyingly fiddly to use.

Model Y

While we await the Model Y getting the same visual upgrades as the Model 3 (they’re coming soon…) it’s still an impressive car from a range (600km for the basic model) and charging (Tesla Superchargers are still the industry standard for public charging) point of view. However, while it’s a practical car — and can now be had with seven seats — the Model Y is at best ordinary to drive, with a poor ride, and equally poor overall quality.
